Position Overview:
This is an Account Manager in Training role that is a structured 6-month development program designed to prepare you for a full Account Manager position with SimPL Freight Solutions.
This is an ideal role for someone who is organized, customer-focused, and eager to build a long-term career in logistics. You'll learn how managed transportation accounts operate from the inside out - working directly with an experienced Account Manager and Strategic Account Manager to support customer success.
By the end of the program, you’ll be equipped with the skills, confidence, and hands-on experience to step into an Account Manager role and take ownership of customer relationships.
What You’ll Do:
- Train side-by-side with an experienced Account Manager and Strategic Account Manager
- Learn the fundamentals of freight operations, managed transportation, and account execution
- Support day-to-day customer operations, including shipment tracking, issue resolution, and customer communication
- Assist with account documentation, SOPs, and performance reporting
- Partner with internal teams (operations, technology, accounting, compliance) to ensure smooth execution
- Participate in agenda generation for customer calls and internal strategy discussions
- Develop strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
Upon completion of the 6-month program, high-performing Account Managers in Training will be eligible to transition into a full Account Manager role with increased responsibility, ownership of customer accounts, and long-term growth opportunities within SimPL.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Supply Chain, or related field required
- 1-year minimum customer service experience required
- Full-time availability and ability to work 100% on-site in Raleigh
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Coachable, eager to learn, and open to feedback
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, or logistics software is a plus, not required
